My dad was the first person who fed my love of travel. He took me on a plane before I took my first step. He understood that travel was the most intensive form of education, and he made sure that, even if it was on a shoestring budget, my sister and I got to see a lot of our world before we ever set out on our own.
Unfortunately, my Dad left on the ultimate trip June 1. And, although he left an enormous hole in our lives, I know exactly where he is now. My heart aches for my loss and rejoices for his gain.
