Our family loves to travel.
I have been traveling for as long as I can remember because my dad worked for an airline, and flights were a part of his benefits package. My husband discovered his love of travel on his own as a teenager through mission trips and trips with friends. When we started dating, travel became a natural part of our relationship – mostly because we lived in two separate cities. We would travel back and forth to visit one another, or meet somewhere else altogether.
After we got married and had children, we had no intention of changing our travel frequency. We’ve never really thought anything of packing our two kids up and taking them on a trip. But, the more we do it, the more questions we are asked: How can you stand traveling with your kids? Why don’t you leave them behind and go away by yourselves? How can you afford to go across the country? Will your children really remember that trip?
We decided that the best way to answer these questions and more would be to start a blog to document the hows, wheres, and whys of our trips. We are by no means wealthy, but we have figured out how to travel on the cheap and make memories along the way that will last us all a lifetime.
